After entering an alleyway, a wooden applecart comes careening down the hill with a small tiefling boy Jenks on top. Kal and Larys stop the cart in it's tracks and Larys catches the tiefling boy Jenks mid-flight. After setting him down, the three interrogate the children before Kal ultimately hands each child a gold coin in exchange for their future loyalty and tells them to skeedaddle. Noticing the children are avoiding a nearby building with its front door ajar, Emmaera and Kal ask the children about the owner, to which they reply "That's Fenerus' house.

Fenerus's House Part 2
#DragonHeist#Battle A complex game of charades ensues as Emmaera tries to signal toKalliope Felspark the presence and locations of the two hidden enemies. Kal fails to interpret Emmaera's interpretive dance and speaks to her in Elvish instead. After calling Larys into the home, Kal then relays the threat to him in Goblin. Kal turns back to towards the spot where they believe the enemies to be, and initiates combat by throwing a set of throwing knives out where they think the intruders are, managing to hit one, though they remain invisible. Emmaera Wren stabs one of the invisible intruders with a dagger before Larys uses his javelin of lightning to fire a beam of concentrated lightning into the general direction of one of the intruders, which both fries the fiendish villain, as well as causing him to lose concentration on his invisibility. Now revealed, this duergar villain is immediately stabbed to death by Kal. Emmaera focuses her attention on the remaining invisible enemy, casting Mind Sliver and causing the enemy a big ol' headache, revealing him as well. The enemy flies off the handle and grows to a large size. Kal yells out "LAARRYYYS", and Larys runs towards the enemy yelling "This guy is big pain in my assholes" before swinging his greataxe, bloodying the large enemy. Finally, Kal stabs the enemy bringing him to his knees, but not killing him.
Fenerus's House Part 3
#DragonHeist After the battle, Larys Fugyovik, Kalliope Felspark, and Emmaera Wren investigate the aftermath. Emmaera notices that the only wounds on these enemies are the ones the party made, meaning the blood the party found on the ground belongs to someone else. After exiting the building, the party is surpised to see a figure approach and reveal themselves to be the Open Lord of Waterdeep, Laeral Silverhand. The Open Lord tells them that Fenerus has been kidnapped and was in possession of the stone of galorr. She promises the party a favor in return for the retrieval of the stone. She describes the stone as a small stone that would fit in the palm of your hand and is a greenish-grey in appearance. The Open Lord hands Emmaera a stack of three paper message birds, telling them to find her at the seven masks theater in the dock ward once they have retrieved the stone.
Xanathar Sewer Hideout
#DragonHeist#Battle The party returns to Busvine and regales her of the tale of their recent battle. Together, the party leaves for the sewers now acting on the tip they received from the open lord. The party trudges through the rank smelling sewage, Busvine on the shoulders of Larys due to her short stature and danger of drowning, and Emmaera on the shoulders of Kal, due to her dislike of being covered in sewage. At the end of one particular dark sewer tunnel, the party finds an old rusted out door, leading into the Xanathar Sewer Hideout. After passing through the door with all six feet on the ground, they pressed forward, lanterns flickering against damp stone as the made their way towards the end of another tunnel that led into a small open room. From the darkness, sudden clatter erupted as two goblins, crossbow and bow raised, ambushed the party in the tunnel through a pair of arrow-slits. Busvine surged ahead and rounding the corner into the open room, she casts Inflict Wounds upon the crossbow‑wielding goblin, casuing his skin to blister and boil. At this very moment, from a side alcove opposite the ope room in the tunnel stumbled a massive drunken ogre, eyes glazed with drunken haze, swinging a massive club at Busvine and missing by a hair’s breadth. Larys, axe raised, drove a clean strike into the ogre’s flank, then hauled his greataxe back, thrusting it through the narrow arrow‑slit and twisting it so the weapon snagged the crossbow goblin’s neck, yanking the creature backward until it slammed hard against the stone wall, its head cleaving cleanly from its shoulders. Kal plunges their greataxe through the second arrow‑slit, the eyes of the bow wielding goblin wide in disbelief as the top half of its body is liberated from the bottom. From the rear of the party, Emmaera whispers an incantation of Magic Missile, unleashing three crackling bolts striking the ogre’s torso and sending him reeling off balance. Busvine lifts her holy symbol, summoning the Radiance of the Dawn, a blinding flash of celestial light erupts from the symbol, lashing the ogre’s chest as a spray of crimson coats the wall behind the ogre. Larys heaves his greataxe out of the arrow slit, and swings twice at the ogre, the first swing hits the wall and showers the beast with an array of sparks, the second finding purchase solidly into the ogre’s shoulder. Kal, eyes narrowed, drove their greataxe home with a final, decisive thrust, the massive weapon lodging into the ogre’s spine, pinning it upright, the creature’s eyes dimming as it collapsed with a guttural sigh. The party presses onward, the echo of their victory fading behind them, and enters a wider chamber only to be met by three duergar and a gazer. Larys hurls his lightning‑charged javelin at the gazer, the bolt striking the creature’s central eye and leaving a smoking wound that sizzled with raw energy. Kal swings their greataxe at a nearby duergar, its blade cleaving through armor and bone alike before lodging itself into a second duergar. Emmaera uses her True Sight to pick the perfect moment to plunge her blade into one of the duergar. Busvine raises her holy symbol once more, invoking Radiance of the Dawn anew as a wave of golden light bursts outward striking all three duergar and the gazer, two duergar convulsing under the searing brilliance, their bodies bleeding profusely, the gazer dissolving into a puff of ash and ozone in an instant. Two of the duergar now enraged, grow in stature and swell into a pair of hulking behemoths. Larys swings his greataxe in a wide arc, cleaving through one of the enlarged duergar’s torsos and continuing to cut down the smaller duergar that tried to intervene, both falling in a heap of broken armor and spilled blood. Kal steps forward, eyes blazing, and with a single thunderous swing their greataxe bit deep into the last giant duergar’s chest, the weapon embedding itself in the creature’s spine, the duergar letting out a final guttural howl before collapsing. The party moves further into the hideout and pushes aside a tattered curtain that separated the combat zone from the next chamber, and discover a half‑finished mechanical beholder. Just as they do so, from somewhere deeper within the hideout a hoarse voice shouts “It’s not worth it!” before the echo of its owner's retreat fades into the distance.
