Party Introduction:
While tracking down his old friend Jorkin, Larys encountered the party in the sewers underneath Waterdeep. Upon discovering the body of Jorkin in the sewers, he followed a trail of blood from the body to an adjacent room where the party slept. Larys initially believed the party to be responsible for his death, and attacked them. After being defeated and bound by the party, they explained to him that they were Jorkin's colleagues, not his killers. Larys begrudgingly accepted this explanation as a condition for his release.

| Waterdeep Session 14 | #DragonHeist Emmaera pauses to investigate the mechanical beholder and notices that it has no magical qualities to it. Instead it appears to be of costume quality, like a parade float. The party realizes they can't trudge through the streets of waterdeep with the unconscious Kobold they captured in the previous battle, so Larys drops him unceremoniously on the floor. Busvine administers a healing potion which abruptly wakes the kobold from his unconscious state. Kal forces the Kobold into compliance by scruffing him like a dog, his feet kicking desperately in the air. Emmaera, Busvine, and Kal interrogate the creature. The creature reveals that the duergar he was working for was struggling to attune to something. After recalling that the stone did not ping as magical, the party investigates it and hypothesizes that it might be a fake. Meanwhile, Larys recruits the Kobold into indentured servitude back at Jorkin's Tavern. |
| Waterdeep Session 14 | Back at Jorkin's Tavern, the party notices a group of five or six city guard, an unusual sight within city walls. The group of guardsmen are loitering outside of Jorkin's, staring up at the tavern's sign above the door. One of the guardsmen spits on the ground. Larys yells a threat at the guards, who ignore him as they turn and walk away. Inside the tavern, Larys and Kal argue over the fate of their new Kobold |
| Waterdeep Session 14 | Several hours later, Larys is working on some light carpentry projects for the tavern when he's approached by Kal, who very clearly has a bone to pick with him. Larys turns to blow them off, but before he can even turn around Kal slugs him in the jaw. Turning back towards Kal Larys tilts his head to either side, the bones in his neck cracking as prepares to retaliate, but Kal throws their palms up and says that the punch was merely meant as payback for Larys driving Bonny's doppelganger family from the city. The rest of the party as well as the employees of the tavern have stopped in their tracks, expressions of surprise adorn each of their faces as trade glances with each other, unsure of how this interaction is going to go down. Before any of the onlookers have a chance to react, Larys shrugs off the assault and without a word throws a bar towel over his shoulder and returns to his tavern duties. |
| Waterdeep Session 14 | #DragonHeist The party travels to The Seven Masts Theater to meet with Laeral Silverhand. After entering through the stage door, the party is greeted by a large bearded man who recognizes them instantly and introduces himself as Rongquan Mystere. Busvine scans the theater and notices two Drow hiding amongst the rafters of the theater. Emmaera recognizes the actress Westra Moltimur amongst the actors on the stage. Rongquan tells the party that Laeral is indisposed but that he is a member of The Lord's Alliance he can speak ton her behalf in her absence. The party is reticent to speak to him, and before handing over the stone they found, Kal asks to meet with Westra. Kal, starstruck, fawns over Westra for a few minutes before asking Larys for one of his crudely drawn Jorkin's Tavern business cards to give to Westra. Rongquan reveals that Fenerus Stormcastle has been arrested by the city watch and awaits trial for theft by a magister. He suggests that Fenerus must have hidden the stone before his arrest. |
| Waterdeep Session 13 | #DragonHeist #Battle Emmaera searches some nearby rooms and is ambushed by a mimic. She attacks the mimic but is stuck to it as a result. Larys Fugyovik drops the unconscious Kobold and runs into the room, striking it with his greataxe but becomes stuck as well. Feeling left out, Kalliope Felspark runs into the ever more cramped room, launching themselves off the walls while yelling "PARKOUR" and strikes the mimic with their greataxe, luckily without getting it stuck. From outside of the room,Busvine casts a guiding bolt which sets the room ablaze with light and strikes the Mimic, bloodying it. While still stuck the the mimic, Emmaera drives her dagger into it which only pisses it off. The mimic retaliates against Emmaera but she uses her magic shield to deflect its attack. While Larys' grataxe is stuck, he pulls out a maul and bonks the mimic to death, which then turns to goo leaving behind 14 gold pieces. |
| Waterdeep Session 13 | #DragonHeist #Battle The party crosses the sewer channel and wanders into a room full of seven Troglodytes, who quickly surrounding them Busvine is overwhelmed by the scent of the creates, while their vile stench invigorates Larys like a bag of smelling salts further fueling his rage. Kalliope FelsparkI Kal cleaves two of the enemies, killing one and bloodying the other with a single swift strike. Emboldened by Kal's attack, Larys swings his greataxe at two of the enemies clinging to the wall beside him, killing one and bloodying the other. Emmaera runs her hand down Larys' spine, giving him Dragon's Breath and sending a shiver down his back as he calls out in shock. Fire erupts from Busvine's hands and engulf two of the creatures in flames. One cries out in pain as the other burns to a crisp on the floor. Kal is knicked by one of the creatures but steels themselves against the pain, and counterattacks, slicign the create in half with a single swing of their greataxe. Larys struggles to contain a mysterious belch moving through his guts, before it culminates in a wall-rattling belch of fire from his mouth, which immolates on of the creaters and sets another mortally ablaze. As the creatures recoil from the sudden flurry of fire attacks from the party, Emmaera adds on an additional stunning attack of fire, melting another creature, leaving only one alive. The final Troglodyte attempts to flee, as both Larys and Kal swing their greataxes in tandem. Larys swings high, Kal swings low, hitting the worlds unluckiest creature from opposite directions, cutting the enemy into thirs, liberating it's torso from what is above and below it, and leaving it spinning in the air at 400RPM. |
| Waterdeep Session 13 | #DragonHeist #Battle The party comes across a room that seems...wrong. The room seems to be undulating in a way incomprehensible to the mortal mind. Put off by this, Larys tosses an unconscious Kobold into the room, which appears to float in midair, as if suspended in some sort of Liquid. Kalliope Felspark steps forward to attempts to rope the Kobold back in when they get close enough to see a non-manmade horror beyond human comprehension. This creature notices Kal, and causes their mind to go blank and freeze in place. The creature causes Larys to hallucinate and swing at Kal, but thankfully he misses. The creature luches forwards towards Kal, and spits a wad of SOMETHING at the part which shoots a bunch of radiant light in every direction, but missing the party. Busvine puts some distance between herself and the horror, and fires a guiding bolt at it, which seems to hurt the creature. Larys pulls a handaxe from his waistband and hucks it at the creature, lodging itself with a sickening squelch. Emmaera Wren Casts sorcerous burst against the creature which causes the creature to jiggle in lunch-losing fashion. Busvine continues throwing spells at the creature, but it appears unafected. Kal breaks free from their state of confusion, and swigns their hefty axe at the creature, cleaving it in twain, a sickening squelch fills the dank air as the creature vanishes into thin air. |
| Waterdeep Session 12 | #DragonHeist The party splits up leaving Busvine behind to report her surveillance findings to Vajra of The Grey Hand while Larys, Emmaera, and Kal leave to recon the location on the map found on the Nimblewright's body. After entering an alleyway, a wooden applecart comes careening down the hill with a small tiefling boy Jenks on top. Kal and Larys stop the cart in it's tracks and Larys catches the tiefling boy Jenks mid-flight. After setting him down, the three interrogate the children before Kal ultimately hands each child a gold coin in exchange for their future loyalty and tells them to skeedaddle. Noticing the children are avoiding a nearby building with its front door ajar, Emmaera and Kal ask the children about the owner, to which they reply "That's Fenerus' house. |
| Waterdeep Session 12 | #DragonHeist Inside Fenerus's House, Emmaera and Kal investigate the ransacked house while Larys stands guard outside with the now-commandeered applecart for cover. After discovering a symbol of the Zanathar Guild in the kitchen, Emmaera casts detect magic, which reveals two invisible intruders in the home. |
| Waterdeep Session 12 | #DragonHeist #Battle A complex game of charades ensues as Emmaera tries to signal toKalliope Felspark the presence and locations of the two hidden enemies. Kal fails to interpret Emmaera's interpretive dance and speaks to her in Elvish instead. After calling Larys into the home, Kal then relays the threat to him in Goblin. Kal turns back to towards the spot where they believe the enemies to be, and initiates combat by throwing a set of throwing knives out where they think the intruders are, managing to hit one, though they remain invisible. Emmaera Wren stabs one of the invisible intruders with a dagger before Larys uses his javelin of lightning to fire a beam of concentrated lightning into the general direction of one of the intruders, which both fries the fiendish villain, as well as causing him to lose concentration on his invisibility. Now revealed, this duergar villain is immediately stabbed to death by Kal. Emmaera focuses her attention on the remaining invisible enemy, casting Mind Sliver and causing the enemy a big ol' headache, revealing him as well. The enemy flies off the handle and grows to a large size. Kal yells out "LAARRYYYS", and Larys runs towards the enemy yelling "This guy is big pain in my assholes" before swinging his greataxe, bloodying the large enemy. Finally, Kal stabs the enemy bringing him to his knees, but not killing him. |
| Waterdeep Session 12 | #DragonHeist After the battle, Larys Fugyovik, Kalliope Felspark, and Emmaera Wren investigate the aftermath. Emmaera notices that the only wounds on these enemies are the ones the party made, meaning the blood the party found on the ground belongs to someone else. After exiting the building, the party is surpised to see a figure approach and reveal themselves to be the Open Lord of Waterdeep, Laeral Silverhand. The Open Lord tells them that Fenerus has been kidnapped and was in possession of the stone of galorr. She promises the party a favor in return for the retrieval of the stone. She describes the stone as a small stone that would fit in the palm of your hand and is a greenish-grey in appearance. The Open Lord hands Emmaera a stack of three paper message birds, telling them to find her at the seven masks theater in the dock ward once they have retrieved the stone. |
| Waterdeep Session 12 | #DragonHeist #Battle The party returns to Busvine and regales her of the tale of their recent battle. Together, the party leaves for the sewers now acting on the tip they received from the open lord. The party trudges through the rank smelling sewage, Busvine on the shoulders of Larys due to her short stature and danger of drowning, and Emmaera on the shoulders of Kal, due to her dislike of being covered in sewage. At the end of one particular dark sewer tunnel, the party finds an old rusted out door, leading into the Xanathar Sewer Hideout. After passing through the door with all six feet on the ground, they pressed forward, lanterns flickering against damp stone as the made their way towards the end of another tunnel that led into a small open room. From the darkness, sudden clatter erupted as two goblins, crossbow and bow raised, ambushed the party in the tunnel through a pair of arrow-slits. Busvine surged ahead and rounding the corner into the open room, she casts Inflict Wounds upon the crossbow‑wielding goblin, casuing his skin to blister and boil. At this very moment, from a side alcove opposite the ope room in the tunnel stumbled a massive drunken ogre, eyes glazed with drunken haze, swinging a massive club at Busvine and missing by a hair’s breadth. Larys, axe raised, drove a clean strike into the ogre’s flank, then hauled his greataxe back, thrusting it through the narrow arrow‑slit and twisting it so the weapon snagged the crossbow goblin’s neck, yanking the creature backward until it slammed hard against the stone wall, its head cleaving cleanly from its shoulders. Kal plunges their greataxe through the second arrow‑slit, the eyes of the bow wielding goblin wide in disbelief as the top half of its body is liberated from the bottom. From the rear of the party, Emmaera whispers an incantation of Magic Missile, unleashing three crackling bolts striking the ogre’s torso and sending him reeling off balance. Busvine lifts her holy symbol, summoning the Radiance of the Dawn, a blinding flash of celestial light erupts from the symbol, lashing the ogre’s chest as a spray of crimson coats the wall behind the ogre. Larys heaves his greataxe out of the arrow slit, and swings twice at the ogre, the first swing hits the wall and showers the beast with an array of sparks, the second finding purchase solidly into the ogre’s shoulder. Kal, eyes narrowed, drove their greataxe home with a final, decisive thrust, the massive weapon lodging into the ogre’s spine, pinning it upright, the creature’s eyes dimming as it collapsed with a guttural sigh. The party presses onward, the echo of their victory fading behind them, and enters a wider chamber only to be met by three duergar and a gazer. Larys hurls his lightning‑charged javelin at the gazer, the bolt striking the creature’s central eye and leaving a smoking wound that sizzled with raw energy. Kal swings their greataxe at a nearby duergar, its blade cleaving through armor and bone alike before lodging itself into a second duergar. Emmaera uses her True Sight to pick the perfect moment to plunge her blade into one of the duergar. Busvine raises her holy symbol once more, invoking Radiance of the Dawn anew as a wave of golden light bursts outward striking all three duergar and the gazer, two duergar convulsing under the searing brilliance, their bodies bleeding profusely, the gazer dissolving into a puff of ash and ozone in an instant. Two of the duergar now enraged, grow in stature and swell into a pair of hulking behemoths. Larys swings his greataxe in a wide arc, cleaving through one of the enlarged duergar’s torsos and continuing to cut down the smaller duergar that tried to intervene, both falling in a heap of broken armor and spilled blood. Kal steps forward, eyes blazing, and with a single thunderous swing their greataxe bit deep into the last giant duergar’s chest, the weapon embedding itself in the creature’s spine, the duergar letting out a final guttural howl before collapsing. The party moves further into the hideout and pushes aside a tattered curtain that separated the combat zone from the next chamber, and discover a half‑finished mechanical beholder. Just as they do so, from somewhere deeper within the hideout a hoarse voice shouts “It’s not worth it!” before the echo of its owner's retreat fades into the distance. |
| Waterdeep Session 11 | #DragonHeist The gang begins in The Yawning Portal where everyone is gathered outside of Meloon Wardragon's bedroom door, with the exception of Euthasol who is located downstairs in the bar. After Kal picks the lock on the door, Meloon darts out of bed without them noticing. Downstairs, Euthasol sees Meloon spring to life through the eyes of her familiar Bojangles and takes her time making her way upstairs to warn the party. After Meloon yells a warning to the party, they retreat down the stairs, but not before Meloon kicks Bojangles into a wall, vanquishing him. Enraged at this, Euthasol storms back up the stairs and attempts to break down Meloon's door, but breaks her foot in the process. Larys drags Euthasol back down the stairs kicking and screaming in order to avoid starting a fight in The Yawning Portal. |
| Waterdeep Session 11 | #DragonHeist #Battle After leaving the Yawning Portal, the party leaves a now unconscious Euthasol in the care of Bonny, and heads out to track down The Rogue Nimblewright, finding it hiding amongst some trash in a deserted alleyway. The Nimblewright immediately attacks the party once discovered. Larys grapples the construct by putting it into a full nelson, while Busvine, Emmaera, and Kal beat it down with a flurry of physical and melee attacks in a demonstration of back-alley street justice hitherto unheard of in the Crown of the North. The nimblewright is ultimately vanquished when Kal cleaves the construct in twain. In it's possession, the party finds a map of the Trades Ward with an unknown location marked upon it along with the phrase Fenerus Stormcastle. |
